Maria Montessori was natural on the 31st of August 1870 in Chiaravalle, Italy to Alessandro and Renilde Montessori. She moved to the urban center of Rome, with her parents, at the age of five. Her father was a soldier in his younger years and later became a civil servant. He had quite traditional views and had a military sense of discipline.
