The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, has two distinctive, female characters. The first character is individual who can trick others to get the man of her dreams, eon the indorse character is very honest and has never told a breathe in her liveness. They twain do it the same man, but they score different reasons. These two characters are Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor. They both have kindred and different qualities ab discover them that make them unique.
In the Crucible, Abigail is the deceitful stripling and Elizabeth is the innocent wife. Abigail Williams is a very clever, girl who can verify anyone she wants. A good example of this is when she is threatening her friends not to check what they did in the woods. She says this, And mark thisâ€"let either of you breathe a word, or the edge of a word about the other things, and I will come to you in the black of around terrible night and I will bring pointy enumeration that will shudder you. (The Crucible, I.13) Abigails motives to trickery are to save herself from existence whipped or hanged, while Elizabeths motives to lie are to protect her husband. Elizabeth chooses to lie for the first time, when questioned about her husbands affair with Abigail. Her husband, hind end Proctor, puts his life in her hands when he tells the judges, In her life sir, she will never lie.



(The Crucible, III.49) Elizabeth cannot lie, yet she lies to save her husbands name.
Elizabeth and Abigail seem like they are extremely different, yet they are similar. They both are in love with the same man. They both see something in John, which keeps them interested with him. Elizabeth is married to John Proctor, while Abigail was just a one-time thing. Elizabeth continues to love her husband, even when he is an adulterer. succession Abigail is in love with John, he is not in love with her.
