Apple is the one of the most successful, American multinational corporations that sells consumer electronics, personal computers and computer software. Its most successful production is its range of iPhones. On October 14th, Apple released its much awaited iPhone 4s. In fact, Apple gained £4million in the first three days of its release.
The UKs economic growth has had an increase to 0.5%, recently. From this, I can prefigure that more people would be willing to spend coin on a luxury product such as the iPhone 4s, itself. For a countrys economic growth to better means that the economic climate is good. This would impact businesses like Apple, positively. The hold for iPhone 4s is therefore, likely to improve, according to my opinion. For example, if the price of the iPhone 4s is £499 and the price of a HTC is £200, in a good economic climate, most people would go for the iPhone 4s, as they would rather spend more money on a reliable and valued phone.
The arouse respect in the UK has gone down to 0.5%, which can mean that less interest would be put on the iPhone 4s, allowing more people to secure it. For example, if the interest rate, 6 months ago was 0.7%, more money would eat to be paid by consumers, while purchasing the iPhone.
However, presently that the interest rate has gone down to 0.5%, it can be assumed that the carry for the iPhone would go up.
However, the inflation rate has gone up to 5.2%. This means that consumers would have to pay 5.2% more for each product they buy. Similarly, a consumer would have to pay more for an iPhone 4s during a time of inflation. Since, iPhone 4s is a luxury product, it is an inelastic good. Therefore, if the price of the iPhone goes up, the entreat of the iPhone 4s would not change to a great extent, meaning that the demand and sales would remain the same as when the inflation rate was lower.
