CJS/230 Introduction to Corrections
Objectives of Punishment
When it comes to penalisation it does not have to be the vector sum of a sentenced handed down. There ar three objectives to punishment in the wicked justice system and they are reformation, incapacitation, and determent. When it comes to how deterrence was supposed to work is it was designed to discourage a criminal from committing a crime in holy order to refrain from world sent to prison. The purpose of incapacitation was to remove the criminal from society in order to protect everyone. The purpose of rehabilitation was to supporter in changing an undivided during confinement to hopefully prevent that individual from committing any more crimes upon release. The mood that punishment can assist with achieving institutional objectives in the criminal justice system is by first with improving the deterrence methods that are used. One careen that can be do is more interaction with juveniles at school to show them that the life of crime is not the way to go.
The second change that can be done is with incapacitation those that are parcel long sentences for the most minor crime should be released and placed on house arrest or probation sooner than sitting in a cell. The last change is with rehabilitation the change that should be made there is those who are serving sentences for robbery or drugs should be made to attend classes plot serving to clean out the drugs in their system and to search and help them recover from their addiction. Those who commit robbery should be made to work for those that they robbed in order to repay the individual(s) for the loss of time, property, and the emotional state that they are safe.If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: Ordercustompaper.com
