Human Resource Planning is very important to our mundane activities. Several definitions have been given by different writers just about what piece resource planning is and its importance to achieving organizational objectives. It is fearful that this important part of human resource is mostly neglected in most organizations because those in top positions do non really know the value of human resource planning. Organizations that do not plan for the future have less opportunities of hold out the competition ahead.
The author of this paper will start by attempting to give different definitions of what Human Resource Planning is and therefore will further attempt to discuss its significance in an organisation.
The author will then further look at the four (04) categories of staff and decisions that management should make in respect of each of these categories of staff.
1Human Resources Planning is a offshoot that identifies current and future human resources needs for an organization to succeed its goals. Human resources planning should therefore serve as a link between human resources management and the overall strategic plan of an organization.
2Like corporate and strategic management, human resources management has a role in the continuity and senior status of the organization.
