A good manager is successful and capable to avoid wasting resources. Four Functions of Management
Planning
Planning is the specific goals to be achieved, delivering value, and deciding the actions ask to achieve those goals. A good manager must be able to analyze current situations, anticipate the future, determine objectives, and at the same time decide the types of activates the company will do (Bateman & Snell, 2009).
Planning is no longer top-down, but a continual process that uses people throughout the organization, including those of customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to create, seize, ratify and sustain the competitive edge (Bateman & Snell, 2009, p. 19).
Good planning will deliver strategic value that contributes to meeting organizational goals. Good managers will keep in mind the changing set of stakeholders and issues while incorporating globalization, technological changes, knowledge, ideas, and collaborating (Bateman & Snell, 2009).
Organizing
Organizing is defined as assembling and coordinating the human, financial, physical, informational, and other resources need to achieve goals (Bateman & Snell, 2009, p. 20).
